Apollo defeated Rocky Balboa with a split-decision victory, then challenged Rocky to a rematch. Apollo lost his title to Rocky Balboa, and then Creed retired. Once Rocky Balboa's rival, Apollo became the Italian Stallion's best friend, and trained Rocky for his victory over Clubber Lang. Apollo would sadly die after a severe beating at the hands of Ivan Drago.
